Lena Kutscher Cherishing the Uncertainty

Lena Kutscher’s debut single ‘Stagnation’ is a thoroughly vivid tail of growing up, growing apart and breaking out of romantic complacency. The storytelling behind ‘Stagnation’ illudes to a songwriter who has chosen to celebrate and cherish the uncertainty of self discovery.

Behind her debut single, Lena brings with her a background in voice, acting and classical clarinet. Aligned with the message behind her song - she’s worked hard to revel in accepting there’s a creative opprotunity that lies within letting go of the pressure to be perfect - opting instead for authenticity.

To Lena, “being a human being alone is a creative force. It’s our job to literally create life so I believe that everyone here is creative or an artist.”  Because some of us have the opportunity to tap into our creative ‘frequency’ more than others, she believes she has an important responsibility to create genuine and vulnerable music. She understands the significance of this, stating, “music has also made me see the world through a totally different lens. My reality doesn’t shift, but my perspective on it can change just from listening to someone's music. It has saved my life in a lot of ways. I want to be able to do that for other people.”

Taping into this mindset isn’t much of a choice for Lena, stating, “I guess being creative isn’t really an option for me. I get really depressed if I can’t and I hate feeling that way - obviously. I want to create music because I believe it is the art form that bonds us the most, despite all of our differences.”  She continued onto say, “I think the minute you admit to yourself you are an artist it is your duty to try and protect that frequency as often as possible.”

Lena defiantly shrugs off the idea of making it in the music industry, ensuring it plays no role in her creative process and that her art speaks for itself. What is more important to her is writing and creating, free from the outside noise or influence: “I make art to make art, not to be apart of some industry. I’m my own industry and I don’t need certain reps or fancy names backing me in order to make me feel like I’m successful.”

With this new single, Lena has chosen to shed negavivity in favor of divine femininity and mindfulness: “I find that when I am in a creative mode I'm at peace with myself. Super present and gracious.”
